How to contribute to this project

If you feel now the urge to contribute to this project or simply want to be part of one of the next generation games feel free to contribute your talent. There are two general ways you can help out this project: Team Member or Contributor.

Team Member

A Team Member is required to stay with the project for a long period of time, usually until the release of the project or longer. Furthermore you have to be dedicated to spend your spare time for this project (if possible of course) trying to produce good results in reasonable time. This project is big and to get it done in a reasonable time we have to work on it hard. People interested in becoming a Team Member also have to be able to provide reference work to show their skills and to decide if they fit in the open positions in the team. If you are uncertain if you are the right person for a Team Member do not hesitate to send an email into my direction so we can discuss this further.

Contributor

A Contributor somebody who wants to contribute work to this project but does not qualify as Team Member or simply just prefers to hand in some work on an irregular basis and without time pressure. You can at any time step up to Team Member if you want to. Hence if you are uncertain of becoming Team Member you can first go as Contributor and if it pleases you stepping up. Contact me if you like to join as a Contributor for the project.

Workflow/Management in the Project

Work in the project is handled using a Task based system in the Epsylon Forum. There exist two Task Systems one for Contributors (in the Contributor Office forum) and one for Team Members (in the Team HQ forum). In each Task System there exists a sticky Task Black Board topic which lists all the tasks. Each Task has its own topic containing detailed informations about the requested work, the progress and the people assigned to do it and is linked in the Task Black Board. This allows people to take on work by looking at the black board reducing overhead by high communication with the project leader(s) to distribute work.

Projects to contribute to

Contributing Concept-Arts

Concept art contributed to this project will be handled differently than the rest. Concept art is a heavily project related artistical material and is restricted in the following ways:

Concept Arts are copyrighted (and free to use for any purpose) by the Team itself and the Creator of the concept art. Those two entities are allowed to use or distribute the concept-art material in question. All other entities are not allowed to use or distribute this material without asking permission from one of the copyright holding entities.

Will this be sold?

The aim is to provide also buyable versions of the game. In what exact way is not decided yet. Also available will be a pay-pal donate for people to support the project in a financial way. The Project Team Heads decide over how the funds are used and is not decided yet.
